Enrollment Process & Deadlines
Georgetown Summer Sessions accepts enrollments on a rolling basis starting in the Spring Semester, with no application required.
We encourage students to enroll early. The priority deadline to enroll for Summer Sessions is April 1. The deadline to submit a complete enrollment form for Main First Session is May 12, and the deadline to submit a completed enrollment form for the Main Second Session is June 16.
If you are an international applicant who requires F-1 or J-1 visa support, you must submit all required application materials by the priority deadline.
Eligibility Information
Summer Sessions courses are open to the following individuals:
- Newly admitted or continuing undergraduate and graduate students in good standing at Georgetown.
- Undergraduate and graduate students in good standing at other colleges and universities, with submission of application and official transcript(s). Good standing is defined as having a 2.00 minimum GPA ("C" average) at the undergraduate level or a 3.00 GPA ("B" average) at the graduate level.
- High school students, recommended by their principals or guidance counselors, who will have completed at least their freshman year with a "B" average or better at the time of enrollment, and whose high school program applications are approved by the associate dean of Georgetown Summer Sessions.
- International students who can provide evidence of a minimum TOEFL score of 90 (iBT), a minimum IELTS score of 7.0, or a minimum Duolingo score of 115. English can only be considered the native language if it is the only official language of the applicant's home country and the primary language spoken in the applicant's home. - Individuals whose educational background and experience qualify them for the courses they wish to take, with submission of enrollment form and official transcript(s).
Late Registration
- A late registration fee will be assessed to anyone who initiates registration on or after the first day of class in a given session.
Students registering after the tuition payment deadlines may be subject to additional fees.
Disclosures, Limits, and Restrictions
- Any student who has been suspended or dismissed from, and not formally readmitted to, any school within Georgetown may not register without the written permission of their former dean.
- Georgetown University does not participate in cross-registration with Montgomery College, National Defense University, National Intelligence University, Northern Virginia Community College, Prince George’s Community College, or Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
- Consortium registration is not guaranteed. Courses may be closed or subject to approval from the dean/department at the visited institution.
- Enrollment in the Georgetown Summer Sessions does not constitute or imply acceptance as a degree candidate in any school or division of Georgetown University.
