While you’re here this summer, you’ll have access to a wide range of campus resources designed to support your academic, personal, and social experience. From recreation and dining to health, safety, and student support services, Georgetown provides everything you need to make the most of your time on the Hilltop.
On Campus Facilities
As a Summer Sessions student, you can take advantage of the extensive sports and fitness facilities at Yates Field House, the primary recreation facility for Georgetown University. Yates offers a wide variety of recreational resources, including a swimming pool; basketball and volleyball courts; indoor golf court; indoor tennis; racquetball courts and squash courts; indoor track; cardio area; weight training; core/stretching area; locker room, and a pro shop. Your Georgetown GOCard grants you free access to the facilities during your course(s) or program(s).
For any health issues or concerns during your time at Georgetown, you can visit the Student Health Center. At the Health Center, you’ll find a staff of family practice faculty physicians and nurse practitioners with specialized training and experience in college health who are dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare.
While you’re at Georgetown, you can read or study in one of our many on-campus libraries. Make sure to bring your GOCard for entry into each library.
All Summer Sessions students have access to Georgetown’s Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS), which serves the mental health needs of those in the Georgetown community. Georgetown’s Military and Veterans' Resource Center serves student veterans as they apply to, attend, and advance beyond Georgetown. Contact the Veterans Office by phone at (202) 687-2708 or by email at veteranservices@georgetown.edu.
Hotels, Lodging, and Dining
Summer Sessions students are not required to live on campus, but if you choose to, you’ll have the opportunity to live in the residence halls on our historic hilltop campus. Each residence hall contains study areas, laundry rooms, and lounges that you can use for studying, reading, or socializing. Each double room is equipped with typical college furniture—beds, desks with hutches, bookshelves, drawers, built-in closets, carpeting, air-conditioning, desk chairs, and wireless internet access. For more information on on-campus housing, visit the Residential Living Office website.
For parents or family members seeking nearby accommodations, here is a list of selected nearby hotels.
As a Summer Sessions student, you'll have options to enjoy meals in the dining hall, go for something quick at the Leavey Center food court, or take a short walk to dozens of restaurants and familiar quick-serve dining options in the Georgetown neighborhood. From distinctive vegetarian fare and top-notch burgers to healthy eating choices and famous cupcakes, you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for within walking distance of campus.
All students attending Georgetown Summer Sessions have the option to purchase a meal plan. There are a variety of options available. Please visit Summer Session Dining for more information on summer meal plans.
